| km_donovan | Browns Creek Trailhead ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 6, 2002 | |
| I do not recommend going from Browns Lake. Route finding is difficult; the “route” is mostly missing due to slides that have changed the terrain since it was written in the Roach Guide. The day did produce some good quality suffering. | ||

| Brad Snider | From Shavano ![]() Date Climbed: Apr 9, 2006 | |
| This was actually an interesting climb after ascending Shavano via the Angel. There was deep and mostly-hard snow most of the way up to Tabeguache's summit, which made for some fun glissading back to the Shavano-Tabeguache saddle. | ||

| Exceptionally loose and rotten below the ridge. Somewhat frustrating and slow-going. Not fun at all. Things were much better once you attain the ridge. Then it's a simple walk. Not hard or exciting. There were a few people up there. | ||

| Summited Shavano (2x) & Tab. It was an interesting day that turned out well, but could have been bad. Had to wait on my company so got an hour late start (7am), and then he was struggling up the mountain so I had to go at it on my own. T-storms blew in early and grapple fell hard. Most hikers were running down to tree-line (which is quite a long ways away!) I was fortunate to get off before the lightening, but MANY were not. ...and SOME were still going up... yeah, dum. They all had stories to tell in the "parking lot," poles buzzing, hair standing straight up, etc... The mountain will be there another day! | ||

| This is my 12th Fourteener! Long, long day for little slow me. Summited Shavano early; conditions were just right to procede for Tabeguache even I was advancing in hesitation, without sunglasses, nor sunscreen. "Two" much for one day! (...more to read in my posting on on Mt.Shavano) DeCaLiBro next? | ||

| #13...Yeah. The trek from Shavano to Tab and back was a lot easier than expected. We almost turned back because one of our hikers had a major blister. A healthy dose of Moleskin and off we went. | ||

| What a great way to spend the 4th... climbing with friends. The traverse between the two is easy, but the trip back up Shavano the 2nd time was wearing me out :-) | ||

| Took about 45 mins to cross the saddle and summit. Met some good people (Mark, Josh, Martin) on Mt Shavano and hiked up with them. Rested a good 30 mins then started back over to Mt Shavano and back down. Mark showed me how to glissade, way fun!! My 11th 14'er and another beautiful day in Colorado, sweet!! | ||

| Perfect day for a climb. Left trailhead around 630am. Summitted Shavano, then hiked the saddle to Tabeguache. Spent lots of time on top Tabeguache waiting for the rest of our group to summit. Awesome weather to take a nap on top of a 14er...very warm and virtually no wind while we were up there. Glissade down the angel was great too. | ||

| What a long day! It started with a 3,500 or so scree climb and just got worse. On the way down I decided to take an alternate route down the mountain and ended up sliping and getting knocked out. The whole trip ended up being a 11 hour day. | ||
