This really confused me for a while until I saw a photo taken from the Western Cwn which is at the top of the ice fall in the foreground: it is not actually a peak but part of a ridge. It looks like a peak from below because of the sheer face but from the side there is no summit -it just continues up as a ridge to everest itself. Hope that helps!

It is one of my favorite photos, I took it in early september in a hour long break in the cloudy weather of the monsoon that was hanging on late that year. It brings back great memories!
