Nice day on a desert mountain
I'd been wanting to get Telescope Peak for several years and so these pics are from getting to that peak and summitting it on Sep 2nd. Kind of an early birthday present since I'll be turning 70 in a couple weeks. It was a 14 mile day and I went up the service road over Rodgers Peak, then to Telescope and back over Bennett and out the trail that contours around Rodgers Peak. It was a great day weather wise, not too hot even though it was 117 down in Death Valley (Telescope is the highpoint of the park) and yet I didn't have to share the mountain with anyone, I had it all to myself. My wife and I camped atMahogany Flats where she waited for me while I went up and down the mountain.
Round trip time was 7 1/2 hours (not including a half hour on the summit)
