From Reseda
Lovely warm spring weather and blooms. Never been up to this part of the Santa Monicas, so everything was a surprise... INCLUDING the swine stop-sign camera at the trailhead!!! Nevertheless, this was a very peaceful and uncrowded weekday hike. Can't imagine what it's like on weekends, though.

Peak is Easy to Miss
Left from Trippet Ranch and reached the peak after making a quick stop at eagle rock and the hub.
The peak is easy to miss. Continue south past the hub until you reach an area where the powerlines are directly above you. Turn left on to the backbone trail from there and continue on the trail for maybe 1/8 mile until it loops around to the left. There should be a small peak off to the left and an unkept trail that reaches the top.

From Reseda Blvd
Headed south on the fire road and detoured to Eagle Rock before looping back and on up to the summit. Views from both locations were obscured by the marine layer.

I was just out exploring new trails and started at Will Rogers SHP on the Rivas Canyon Trail, ended up on Temescal Ridge and decided to keep going to the high point where I saw the register can, no pole now. From there I realized that the trail might connect with a spur trail I had seen going off the Backbone Trail, which it did, so I went back down the Backbone Trail to the Jesepho Drop trail to Rustic Canyon and then followed the trail along the stream back to Will Rogers. With an extra loop in Rustic, it was 13.4 miles total.

From Reseda Blvd.
Continuing to knock off the LPS peaks around San Fernando Valley, I ran up Temescal from the end of Reseda Blvd. Darkness almost overtook me on the way back, but made it just in time. Fine views of the Santa Monica Mountains not just from the top, but also from the fire road.

from Temescal Gateway in the rain
started from Sunset up by the waterfall then up to the ridge. It was insanely humid in the canyon the windy and rainy on the ridge, but did get soaked in just a soft-shell. Went down the front of the ridge, 10.9 miles roundtrip. Rain ruined the views but added a whole new dimension. Carried 35lbs for training
