The 1980 winter ascent route on Mount Everest

The route of the first winter ascent (17 February 1980) on Mount Everest by Krzysztof Wielicki and Leszek Cichy. This is the normal route from Nepal via the South Col. The expedition was led by Polish climbing legend Andrzej Zawada, the driving force behind the idea of winter 8000-meter climbing.
