The 1st pitch of Pacific Ocean Wall on El Capitan, Yosemite National Park

The 1st pitch of Pacific Ocean Wall on El Capitan, Yosemite National Park

September 2013, Photographer: Jackson Herring AKA Panama Red I took a huge fall on this pitch while practicing aid lead. I fell from near the top of the pitch to about 12-15 feet off of the deck. Only 1 cam stopped me from hitting the ground. It was pretty scary.

Re: How many...

I had back cleaned quite a few of the pieces below me following some advice from guys who had just climbed el cap. I had two yellow c3s rip and a green c3 and a c4#1 rip beneath that. I was pretty foolish not to put in as much gear as possible on my first aid lead...Oh well live and learn!
