The Central Alaska Range

The Central Alaska Range

May 29th, 2006 - The central Alaska Range seen on our flight in from Talkeetna. The three largest peaks seen are Foraker (left) Hunter (center) and Denali (right). The mountains have a strange flatness to them due to the atmosphere. They are truly large and actually quite far away (over 40 miles from here), and forest fires adding particulates to the atmosphere exaggerated the effect of the atmosphere between us and the mountains.
