The complex scrambling on Bolton Brown

The complex scrambling on Bolton Brown

2009-05-07 - Once the top of the chute is gained on the West Face, the Bolton Brown route drops down and traverses a ways across this broad chute. Follow the line shown in the picture: Traverse the chute, wrap around the backside of the arete, walk out on the catwalk and traverse/downclimb a 6 ft class 3 step. Enter a chimney with a chockstone. Mantle onto a ledge and traverse back right onto a face that is very thin and exposed (I would call it 5.1 or 5.2, personally). Ascend the face and traverse left at the top to exit onto the arete crest on the right. Traverse back left to re-enter the chute, this time split longitudinally by steep flakes, dividing it into two smaller chutes (I would call this section class 4, but maybe it was only more difficult due to the snow?). This ends at a notch at a dropoff, my high point.
