How many bears did you encounter?
Low Tatras are the area with the highest concentration of niedzwedzów. When I descended ?umbier valley, I encountered a small one, but it immediatelly escaped, so I have no record of this very special event...

Described in the 3rd chapter on the Ohniste page - one head (and two paws) emerged from the water, trout in the snout, just by the river bank where we were standing.

Right you are. But I talked to some lumberjacks who've seen a Mama bear with her three cubs at the foot of Ohniste this month. :)
