Epic views, glad I didn't read the SummitPost directions in advance!
Climbed in conjunction with Mount Jordan at the end of July and WOW am I glad I didn't check SummitPost for trip reports in advance or I might have skipped this one - talk about misinformation! Two-day climb and class IV rope climbing needed, what the heck? This one was a straightforward single day mostly class 2 climb with plenty of time to drive back to Boise that night! We approached by driving about half a mile up Jeep road 356 and hiking the rest of the way to the base of Mount Jordan's south ridge - some VERY slippery eroded switchbacks at the top, but otherwise straightforward. Jordan itself is an easy 15-20 minute walkup with great views on its own! The connecting ridge to The General is slow but fairly straightforward utilizing goat trails most of the way. The summit climb is quite steep and loose with one class 2+ block, but an okay climbers trail most of the way. Amazing views from the top!!

Great Views
Great views of the surrounding mountain ranges. Traversed to The General from Mount Jordan, than continued on to Peak 10006'. Excellent day. Trip Report

traverse from Mt Jordan
straightforward traverse from Mt Jordan. As mentioned, the area has burned recently. Excellent views of numerous Idaho mountain ranges. I would recommend checking out idahosummits.com for information on this hike as this webpage has a considerable amount of misinformation and certainly does not describe the standard way to climb this mountain.

Fun hike
The fire the year before made the basin a lot less nice looking. Tons of burned trees and charcoal along the ridge from Jordan.

First Climber since '02Climbed up this awesome mountain in the morning, and camped at Mystery Lake at night. Beautiful territory.
