Climbing and hiking in the Harz mountains
| The Harz Mountains at sunset |
The Harz is German low mountain range. The granite massif of the Brocken is an elevation with a peak of 1142 metres.
There are deep ravines at the borders of the Harz, the Bode Valley near Thale is the "Grand Canyon" of the Harz.
Many granite rocks were shaped by erosion: the Käste Cliffs (a group of rocks) and the Marienwand in the Oker Valley near Goslar.
