I feel like I'm losing my motivation to post ANYTHING
on SP. After reading your article, I can only state my apparent
apithy towards the site - YOU HAD ME LAUGHING SO HARD, that I
had to go see a Doctor to get stitches and medication.
But for some reason, some folks are going to be more selective
in their voting, and crawl inside themselves to find their inner-self. Others are going to stand in line at REI!!
based on thorough research - a great example of how science can improve our lives:-) You get a 10 although I think I belong to a GREEN clan and you seem to be one of the WHITE lovers, just like MOCKBA. In seriousness, IMHO much of the mess about the voting stems from cultural diversity (more about it in my comments here)
... for all your comments! It was a lot of fun to prepare this article, and I'm glad it made laugh some of you!
I'm just very disappointed that nobody asked what is the name of the mountain behind my dog... seems that nobody cares about mountains in this site! :-)
The peak used to be called Chalung Ri, an obscure unclimbed 6700m peak in Tibet, but since the "copy" got more votes than my "original" posting, it has officially been decided to rename it Great Pet Peak, in honour to my dog which has revealed this mountain to the world.
To obtain a climbing permit, it is compulsory to hire a specially trained "Doguide". There used to be a fierce competition with the “Bureau des Guides de Chatmonix”, but the latest won the exclusivity for Mont Blanc…
Please note that you’ll have to cater for your Doguide, as well as to bring his natural needs back to BC in a specially provided plastic bag.
T'was actually pretty easy to guess as Chalung Ri and your Dog look as if they were twins. I suppose the Peak remains obscure as your Dog has obscured it.
The news of the mandatory guide-rental is really saddening to me. This is a kind of thing I've always hated. On the other hand, a dog's better than a cat, I hope they've been trained to carry some beverage the way those renowned St Bernard dogs did. As to the catering service and effective use of plastic bags, it's OK with me, I tend to be environmentally friendly plus have always wanted to live in SW Canada/NW contiguous US. I hope the plastic bag will be big enough to contain me (which I do deserve, having an album on some wooden man-made structures on my conscience).
Thank you for educating us on how to achieve POTD immortality. I've been on SP for 5 years and I have never had POTD yet. But now you have shown me the light. I have started my journey by voting 10 on your article and by posting a comment so as to get visibility on thw What's New page. I also wish to pledge my Common Love for Amazing Nature. I will follow your other steps carefully and I look forward to being the next POTD winner. Thank you again!
Your conversion to a Common Love for Amazing Nature is a good first step, but you will only escape darkness if you practice faithfully and regularly the Ten Commandments… For what I have seen in your profile, your last picture was posted around half-year ago, and it wasn’t a butterfly, but a… snake! To see the light, you must first be delivered from the temptation of not-posting…
Thank you Dan! I’m currently learning the art of levitation, and trying to apply it to mountaineering. I hope to submit another article about it in future!
He he! this is VERY funny. Great work... you are ready for a degree in sociology and psychology ;-))
Human nature is weird, isn't it??
A brilliant contribution!
Cheers
Stefano
p.s. sorry to point out that the K2 with a cat is a fake! In the original the cat is being aimed at with a gun, poor guy. I suppose that is why the photo did not make it to SP POT Decade.
