The Lafaisbach from the Lodner Hütte

The Lafaisbach from the Lodner Hütte

Starting at the Lodner Hütte, if your aim is the Blasiuszeiger, your trail will soon come to a bridge across this small alpine stream. In contrast, if your going to Roteck, you shouldn't cross this stream at all. Stay on the right, first not too far away, but when the Lafais valley opens up, soon there will be a marked turn to the right and up the slopes. Finally there is a hiking trail up the Lafais valley, to the Ginggljoch saddle and beyond. After the junction with the Roteck trail, the trail in the valleylevel, and so eventually it reaches the river, which is decidedly smaller by then. The trail keeps following it, switching sides occassionally. There are plenty of signs and route markers along the way. Only the junction of the trails to Roteck and to the Ginggljoch could have been marked a little bit better. 4 August 2012.
