The last steps to the summit along the glacier ridge, Aug 27th 2003 Comments[ Post a Comment ] | Claude Mauguier | Dreaming on the top. | | Voted 10/10 | I was trying to determine which was the best "summit based" (or very near) hut to stay for a 2-3 or more days rest, dedicated to contemplation, reading, pipe-smoking, etc...weather permitting of course : Punta Gnifetti (capanna Margherita - quite crowded ), Monte Vioz (Mantova hut), Rocciamelone (bivouac, you have to carry your own survival material), Presanella (same remark), Becherhaus (Stubai Alpen), Similaun Hütte, ..........others ?
