Evening shadows over "The Needles" which are a set of interesting pegmatitic granite spires of the Harney Peak Granite. This granite is Precambrian in age and 1.7 billion years old. Photo from the "Pigtails Highway" in Custer State Park in the Black Hills (September 2002).
