What a freakin route photo. I did the gumby route from Solitude Lake and have wondered about this route. Now I know.

Is that a avy-safe route? Looks like some nice post holing, but hey, it sure would be a nice winter view.

I've done it in the winter, and it wasn't bad. In all of the times I've been by here in the winter I've never seen signs of an avalanche, but that doesn't mean it couldn't happen, as you well know.

Nice shot, where did you take it from? I could figure it out but I'm too lazy to whip up the TOPO.

During my 8 years in politics I learned about liability & lawyers, so when in a "corner" answer with a definite "maybe" ...
The picture was taken from the summit of the West Glacier Knob, just east of The Loch. Going to The Loch and "climbing" West Glacier Knob is a nice winter snowshoe hike for beginners.
