The Schneeberg seen from the southern slopes of Hohe Wand

The Schneeberg (Snow Mountain) is the easternmost 2000m high peak of the Alps. As it is much higher than the surrounding mountains, the peak is visible even from the western edge of Hungary is clear weather. Its name may refer to the fact that it is the only mountain in the area which is usually snow-capped even in May. Hohe Wand, Austria 4th April, 2009
