The Thumb, Sandia mountains

The Thumb is the prominent formation dominating the south side of upper La Cueva Canyon. Its blade -like shape makes the Thumb appear as a sharp pinnacle when viewed edgewise from the northwest (photo will follow). When viewed from he east, the Thumb can be identified by its broad faces capped by twin summits.
