This is the grave of Fred...
This is the grave of Fred Ericson, who built the original Ingalls Creek Lodge. I knew nothing about this man or grave but stumbled upon it quite by accident on my South Slope ascent of McClellan Peak on September 12, 2003. The grave is located about 100 ft north of the Ingalls Creek Trail about 5.5 miles from the trailhead (just before a horsecamp). I'm guessing the pick axe is vintage. For more information about the man and his grave (and other wilderness graves!), click here and here.
