This is the most difficult part of the Pollux normal route. The chains make it possible for "normal" climbers (August 2000)

I don't know this climber. He crosses while we were descending. But in the small "chimney" left of the chains (not visible) there was still some ice and you could use crampons there.

	Hasn't voted	Hi Diego, yes this is the normal route. Withour the chains it would be surely UIAA III or more. But it is SW ridge. You do not touch or even traverse Zwillingsjoch pass when coming from Klein Matterhorn
