Snow makes all the difference
My wife and I traveled to Utah to visit Arches National Park about ten years ago. The first day we got to Moab we had a snowstorm, and we heard there were two more storms on the way. Out of time to wait for several days, we decided to head back to California. In December of 2008, however, the luck was on our side and we made it to Moab the day after the road was opened following a big snowstorm. The three days we went into Arches National Park were some of the best and scenic days we have spent anywhere. The temperatures hovered between 6 degrees night time, and 16 degrees for days.
