The "Flatirons" are giant slabs of red/grey
sandstone tilted upward at an angle of 50 degrees. They can be viewed from almost anywhere in Boulder, Colorado.
Not very important, but I reckon this will actually be a NRecreation Area - the Net says so; when I was at high school I used to collect postcards from US&Canada's NP's (I ended up with a thick album, thanks to all the kind rangers who replied to my letters)
Surely things have changed a terrible lot. I wish I'd had access to the Internet when I was at school (unfortunately the Soviets kept my Dad in a Gulag camp just one decade :-)
