Reach the small village of "Torfhaus" over the main-road "B4". Approximately 30 minutes south of the big city of Braunschweig. 1 hour to Hannover
From the parking lot in the small village "Torfhaus" goes it along the road "B4" of about 200 meters south in the direction of the city of "Braunlage". Behind the last houses begins on the left side a way one follows the "Goetheweg" marked way, which leads after short time along the large "Torfhausmoor". Always the markings "Goetheweg" following, a small summit called "Quitschenberg" is reached. Here many storm damages are to be recognized by the spruces, which recover only slow. Now the way leads steadily upward to the path of the historical staem railway, called "Brockenbahn". We follow on a path made of wooden bars. Thus we arrive at crossing with the street, which comes up from the small village of "Schierke". Over steep becoming road after approximately 1 Kilometer the summit-plateau is reached. The highest point is marked by a huge summit-stone with bronze boards.
Hiking boots, wheather protection clothes.
