Trail to Iceberg Lake

Fall vista along the trail to Iceberg Lake. The Lake is out of sight on the left side of the picture with the Pinnacle Wall directly in front. Iceberg Peak is near the center and the B-7 Pillar is on the right. October, 2005.

This was my first time to this section of the park and it was about a perfect day for it. One of those clear fall days that follows several stormy days that had left a fresh coat of snow on the mountains.

Is that beargrass?
I can hardly wait for GNP in 06'
Chief MT, and Iceberg notch to swiftcurrent are at the top of my list.

Yes, the beargrass leaves are still green while the flowering stalks are bare but still protrude well above the leaves.

Thanks! Yes, Glacier is certainly a great place to visit. It was even better at this time of year (October) as we were about the only people in the Many Glacier campground.
