Nice view of TrayfootI had never thought of climbing up to Buzzard Rock and getting good views of Trayfoot from there. How do you think of all these things, Bob? I'm really impressed.

Re: Nice view of TrayfootI got the idea while reading my PATC guide about the Trayfoot hike. It mentions that on the descent to Paine Run, there are good views of Buzzard Rock, and that's what got me interested in checking it out.
By the way, I tried to check out Devils Tanyard the same day I did Buzzard Rock. I could not find public access from the north (the only road that appeared open to the public was too snowed in even for 4wd). Then I checked out the south approach, which would have worked, but as I studied the peak from different angles that day, I could not see anything particularly interesting about it. Although topo maps show an open area on the summit, I could not see any sign of it, so I decided to move on. Maybe I will go back another day.

Re: Nice view of TrayfootSorry to hear about your troubles with the snow. Which approach would have worked from the south?

Re: Nice view of TrayfootIt was via West Naked Creek, just past the PATC cabin there. There was another approach that would have followed a drainage almost directly to the summit, but the access seemed blocked by private property.
