Mt Usborne 30 Nov 2013

Walked Mt Usborne from the San Carlos/MPA road, parking vehicle close to the reference indicated in main text.  4wd tracks were easy to follow towards the saddle described in main text, with Usborne in view all way, occasional cloud on top.  However, from approx half-way point on small rise (can see Goose Green to south and summit to north) I struck out directly to top.  Gradient is not particularly steep and crossing stone runs is not difficult walking ... although gusts of wind and occasional balanced rocks require a little care.  Summit very flat, log-books in old ammo box.  Views far-reaching across Lafonia (south) and West Falkland.  Returned same way - fine views on descent - estimate approx 22/24km total and was out of car about 6hrs.  There is no shelter on approach and minimal among boulders later.

Better as a log entry

Since this is so short and lacks any pictures and there is a page for Usborne, it would be better to post this as a climber's log entry.

no problem

Thanks Bob - am happy to do that, but being new to this will need to figure out how, maybe later over the weekend. Regards

Parents refers to a larger category under which an object falls. For example, theAconcagua mountain page has the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits' asparents and is a parent itself to many routes, photos, and Trip Reports.
