A Few Words: I am a glaciologist who has worked for 25 years recording the response of glaciers to climate change. I love being on glaciers and wish they were not melting so quickly. Most Pacific Northwest glaciers are in disequilbrium with current climate. This means they cannot achieve equilbrium through retreat. This is the case on 70% of the 47 North Cascade glaciers we have monitored since 1984. I look forward to working on the glaciers again this coming summer. Any questions about North Cascade Glaciers use the link above.

"As an adolescent I aspired to lasting fame, I craved factual certainty, and I thirsted for a meaningful vision of human life - so I became a scientist. This is like becoming an archbishop so you can meet girls."   --M. Cartmill
