Approach
Villair, Courmayeur (Val Sapin Route)
*** From Turin, Milan, Switzerland (Tunnel or Grand St. Bernard Pass):
Motorway A5, Courmayeur exit. Enter in Courmayeur downtown. Follow La Saxe, then turn right to Villair (Val Sapin) direction.
*** From Seez, Bourg St. Maurice, Petit St. Bernard Pass (France).
Drive through La Thuile to Pre Saint Didier. Turn left for Courmayeur on SS.26d road. Enter in Courmayeur downtown. Follow La Saxe, then turn right to Villair (Val Sapin) direction.
*** From Chamonix/Geneve (Mont Blanc Tunnel)
Once arrived in Courmayeur, turn left, downtown. Follow La Saxe, then turn right to Villair (Val Sapin) direction.
Route Description
From Courmayeur, drive to Villair (warning: different from Villair in La Salle!), Val Sapin road. Park the car. S43 trail continues on the unpaved road for Val Sapin. In Chapy village (1.635 m. - 1h00 from Villair), unpaved road ends. Follow S44 marks for Colle di Liconi (2.674 m. 3h00min). This trail rise on steep slopes before arriving at Liconi pass.
From pass to Testa di Liconi summit, follow "All Liconi" route instruction (add 45 min for the summit).
Very interesting is the crossing from Liconi Valley to Val Sapin.
EE for summit (EE+ with snow). E for Colle di Liconi.
