Italian normal route to Piz Bernina from Campo Moro



Section 3 between Rif. Marinelli Bombardieri (2813m) and Rif. Marco e Rosa (3609m)



Marco e Rosa (3609m) hut is visible high above all the way across the upper Scerscen glacier. Route heads towards the cirque and highest part of the glacier below the dark cliffs of Piz Bernina (4049m). Once there it turns right and climbs steep face till the hut. It generally follows the border between the shade and lightened part of the face. That part of the trail is secured by fixed chains or it would be quite exposed climbing. August 2003.
