A note about climbing Huayna Picchu:

In the foreground are two buildings between which is a walkway that leads down to the "gate" for access to the mountain. You have to enter through the gate before 1:00pm and they only allow something like 50 people to enter. To get to the gate before 1:00pm requires that you take the earliest bus and go there straight away (i.e., climb the peak first, enjoy the village ruins second).
