These mountains are completely unknown to me. And yet not so far away.

The Alpago mountains are mostly frequented by ski mountaineers from Veneto (Padova, Venezia, Treviso). This is fantastic ski touring area; there are very crowded trips, like Monte Guslon, Cima Vacche, Monte Cornor, Cima Laste, all easy ski tours. But there are also more difficult trips where you can be alone all the day, like Monte Messer, Monte Antander, Crep Nudo, Col Nudo, Monte Sestier, and many more. And with fine wheather from the southern summits (Cornor, Palantina etc) you can see the Venice laguna, oh it´s a fantastic view!

Yes, we were on Palantina once and on Forcella Caulana the second time. We missed Monte Cavallo in both cases, what a shame :-(( The second time it was too hard snow and we didn't dare to go on top from Forcella Caulana without any equipment.

But northern areas are unknown to me.
