Route Description
Follow the trail which immediately crosses a small stream in spring, and within five minutes you should be on the Bonneville Shoreline Trail. Turn south and walk about 50 feet and you will see a trail veering off to the left (east), take this trail. The route up Georges Hollow stays in the canyon bottom for quite a ways, so resist the temptation to take one of the many left branches from the trail that lead to ridges and overlooks – there are at least two significant branches that go left that may look like the main trail, but the trail to the summit stays in the drainage all the way to the ridge at about 6,600 feet. The upper parts of this drainage can be muddy in spring. From the ridge you’ll get a good view back of downtown Salt Lake City and the distant Oquirrh Mountains, as well as Lone Peak and Mount Olympus to the south. Continue south along the ridge around a false peak before obtaining the summit.
