If it's taken near my house it must be sandstone of course. ;) --- but I am so bad at looking at part of something and telling exactly where it is from... but BO is great at it! In Mt. Carmel there is of course the Carmel Layer -- you can see along Highway 89 the White Cliffs of the Grand Staircase ---- but that looks really red --- I can't think of anything really close to Mt. Hasn't voted | Okay... I bugged Bo. He does not know either. ;p -- unless it's Diana's Throne from the rear? It must be more towards Kanab with all the red rock. Does this look familiar at all? There is just not a lot of rock that red around here unless you go toward Kanab.
Diana's Throne is 3 mile from Mt. Carmel Jct., across Highway 9 from the entrance to the Coral Pink Sand Dunes -- but from the front it is whitish rock with red splashes on the bottom.

rock. I'm thinking about further north
on Hwy 89, like between Circleville and
Salina. I would of had to get out of the
car to take the picture, and I don't
remember getting out in Kanab.
Maybe I should call it "Hillary's Throne."
