Sams Throne and Lava Butte [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Sams Throne and Lava Butte
This view from Hard Butte looks northeast to Sams Throne (left) and Lava Butte (right). The dark color of Lava Butte is from perched basalt flows from the Columbia flows that covered much of the region about 18 million years ago. This is near the southeast limit of the flows reach.
