Agave in the Afternoon

Late afternoon light shines on some of the vegatation encountered east of Payson, AZ. This is looking east at a boulder-strewn ridge in the Granite Dells Wilderness. Besides agave; pines and weathered granite complete a scene taken out of the Old West. (5-5-08) I'm still waiting for John Wayne and Roy Rogers to suddenly appear on horseback, and swiftly disappear into the deep blue sky.
