Crown Mountain from the Upper North Ridge
Crown from south of Peak 5412 at the beginning of the descending traverse to the north glacier. The narrow gully splitting the north face is "The Cleft", a winter snow route.

With so few ascents of this mountain over the years, I wonder just how many have used that gulley. I've enjoyed your write-up.

Thanks for the nice comment.

To my knowledge the "Cleft" has only been done once. It looked hard to me but I know one of the first ascencionists well and he assures me that, with full snow cover, it's no more than AI1. No more than 45° and only one tool necessary.
