Shepherd's hut in the northernmost part of Cirque Roşiile - fortunately most of the cirque, like lots of terrain north of the main ridge of the Parâng Mountains has always been too rocky for grazing animals.

Voted 10/10 | I remember very well simply identical view that I had in Fagaras range from Budislavu traverse towards the valley... my endurance for living without that Carpathian views is reaching the deadline...

Hasn't voted | Good! There'll be lots of new Carpathian pix then, which should help me keep on living :)

Hasn't voted | I just realized this hut - unlike the typical Carpathian shepherd's hut - is built of stone, and may be a good illustration of the Balkan connection. | | Posted Oct 20, 2009 6:40 am |

Hasn't voted | What's more, the shepherds speak a Romance language... since they come from the Balkans once controlled by the Romans. | | Posted Jul 11, 2009 5:21 am |
