View looking southeastward towards Onion Valley/Independence from the fractured summit blocks of Dragon Peak. (Note Mt Inyo and Keynot Peak vaguely visible in the distant haze.) Eastern approach to Dragon follows the drainage on the south side of the lake.

Bob Burdclimber's right?

If I was on the south side of the lake for an eastern approach, wouldn't that be climber's left?

I meant climber as in the guy that took the picture (me.) I guess I should clarify.

For giving left or right, "climber's" generally refers to when going up the mountain. "skier's" refers to when going down. I'm so bad with left and right that I have to put myself in the picture, turn around to face up the mountain, then use my left hand which I write with as a reference to figure out which direction is being referred to. :-)
