Climbing the south side of...
Climbing the south side of the Amphu Labsa, the difficult pass that links the Hongu and Imja Valleys. November, 2002.
Good weather and snow conditions are important before attempting to cross. There have been several fatal accidents here.
One of the Hongu Valley's elegant unnamed peaks in the background.

Thanks Aleksandar. I was nervous in the cold darkness of 3:00 AM as we set out to cross this pass, but once out on it I totally enjoyed every minute!

Greetings for the striking image. Geometry, light, shape, human factor, dark sky are probably perfect.
