The Big Picture w/ labels

Enlarge twice for details Eastern Sierra Crest from Wonoga Peak south to Mt. Tom north is getting an acupuncture treatment. The Palisades are hidden as they curve northwest behind Birch Mtn. I took more detailed close-ups that I used to verify some of the peaks that were hardly dicernable otherwise. From Mazourka Peak, 9,410' Inyo Mtns. The original was posted Oct. '08 Taken in May '07

Serious effort!

Whoa, nice work! Stuff like this doesn't seem to get the appreciation it deserves. Thanks for all the effort you put into this, what an amazing range!

Re: Serious effort!

Thanks man. I knew most of the peaks already. But there was the section between Split Mtn. and Kearsarge Pass that I needed to research.
With Caltopo on one screen and this big pano plus others with more detail blown up next to it on another screen. Just went down the range. Took about 2 hours and was big fun.

Amazing ...

I've been waiting to see the big picture for a long time.

Some folks paint with a broad brush, but Windsor paints like it was a matter of life and death. NICE WORK !!

Never knew Pinchot had a Sierra peak named after him. You made me learn something.

Re: Amazing ...

He wouldn't have one named after him if John Muir had anything to say about it. He had legal battles with Gifford Pinchots' powerful enterprizing ways like Hetch Hetchy.
Todays lesson is complete.

at least it sounds good...
