Another good page you have made there. Great respect for you putting up so many of the, to most, unknown peaks of your country.

Thank You Tim! I hope You'll make it to these shores one day as I would love to reach yours and visit Banff and so many other amazing locations. There is so much beauty on this Planet, even for 5 lives. At least we have SP to see what else is out there :-) Cheers,

Aleksandar

There appears to be a sort of inland passage along the coast here. For example the channel between Pag Island and the shore. Behind the shore the mountains rise to a bench and then again to the crest. Starting at Malo Rujno on the bench one can hike for six hours and pass the Viserugna summit.

Thanks Mark! Your observations are spot on, next thing for you is to come here and see everything in person :-) Our shore is quite complicated, so many bays, islands... Yes, bellow Velebit is Velebit channel. From the opposite side channel is closed by land and Pag island, which is very long. But since Velebit is even longer in front of Mid Velebit (further towards NW) are Pag & Rab islands, while in front of North Velebit are some other islands. Back to this area. Between land and Pag is passage over which is Pag bridge. Velebit rises in two major steps. All the sweet meadows, fields and plateaus described on Viserujna page are hidden inside the terrace behind first step. These two shots demonstrate this (shot 1 shot 2) well. They were taken from Pag bridge and passage between land is visible as is Velebit channel behind. On the shots is first step (800-1100m) behind which Rujno is hidden. Upper half of the mountain, including Viserujna, was swalowed by stormy clouds. That higher peak on the right is Bojin Kuk (1110m) and is indicated on the map I posted on Viserujna page. It is very interesting area with crazy karst (rock) formations. I’ll add it sometime in coming months.
