Volcan Teneguia, La Palma - closed

The barrier erected to close access to the upper parts of Volcan Teneguia, La Palma in the Canary islands. The reason given is "Conservation reasons". This is a fairly recent development and seems to be a permanent decision. I spoke to a guide on the island for more details, she didn't know why this mountain has been closed and hadn't been able to find anyone else who knew. Many websites still show this path as being open. Please see my other photo for details of exactly where on the path this is. This action has nothing to do with the recent (2021) volcanic eruptions on the island, those are further north.
