.

I'm surprised how much the terrain here reminds me of the Missouri Ozarks. The geography and flora aren't the same, so it's a bit mysterious why. But there it is.

Re: .

Well, I won't see the Ozarks myself until this August, so I can't compare them. But from the photos I've seen, I can see similarities. Especially in some of the Ozark Ridge & Valley regions.

Re: .

August?? I fly north in August.

Well, look out for ticks and chiggers. But you're a southerner, you already know that. Have a great trip!

Re: .

Yeah, I'm going there to check out the karst first magnitude springs along the Current and Jacks Fork Rivers. Only Florida has more of that type of spring than Missouri. And apparently the largest spring in North America is near where we'll park our trailer for a week. I also plan to bag a few peaks.

Peakbagging in the Ozarks

Hope you bring us back photos, TRs, and mountain pages - - the region is really thin on SP. I think this page has links to all the peaks in the area. csmcgranahan has some noteworthy peaks-without-pages here

Uh, "peaks" being a relative term, btw.
