Walliser Alps panorama

Looking south from the Gorner glacier, a little west of the Stockhornpass. From left to right: Jägerhorn (3970m); the massive Monte Rosa, featuring its big NW buttress; Liskamm (4527m); Castor (4223m); Pollux (4092m); Breithorn (4164m) and, last but not least, Matterhorn (4477.5m). The Monte Rosa summits of Nordend (4609m) and Dufourspitze (4634m), the highest point of Switzerland, are not visible, both being hidden behind the massive NW buttress of Monte Rosa itself. 2 July 2013.
