Overview

This is the sole route to the summit of Leahy Peak. Other routes from the north or east would not be sensible as they would entail enduring rotten, steep rock.

Getting There

From the getting there section in the main body of the Leahy Page, follow the Cathedral Lake Trail about two miles until reaching a junction shortly before reaching the lake.

Follow the Electric Pass Trail north-northwestward into the high basin immediately below Cathedral and Leahy Peak. The trail will zigzag directly northward on the slopes of Leahy Peak.

Once the trail obtains the high ridgeline, turn southeastward and enjoy the pleasant half-mile walk to the summit.

Essential Gear

This is a non-technical climb, essential hiking and camping gear is the only requirement.

Parents

Parents refers to a larger category under which an object falls. For example, theAconcagua mountain page has the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits' asparents and is a parent itself to many routes, photos, and Trip Reports.
