Where Sava river begins its journey

Zelenci is the source/spring of Sava Dolinka river. It is placed in the upper Sava river valley, below the northern slopes of Julian Alps. Source is protected as natural preserve and is one of the attractions in this part of Julian Alps. Some 30km down the valley Sava Dolinka meets Sava Bohinjka to create Sava river, one of the longest rivers in SE Europe. Photo: Aleksandar Gospic
