Where we parked

Where we parked

We parked at the 7300 foot mark. In the distance you can see road 16 that brings you to Navajo Mtn. We felt it foolish to go any further as the conditions just kept getting worse. Next time I would park lower down the road and miss some of the nasty stuff we had to negotiate just to get to this point. 4-17-08

Seems rough!

You gotta have quite some confidence in your car going that far. Thanks for posting.

Re: Seems rough!

It helps when there are two vehicles. One gets in trouble and you have the other to help you out. You are a long way from services here.

Pansies

That doesn't look so bad. What do you guys have those fancy 4WD trucks for if you aren't gonna use them. I could have driven that in my Accord. ;-)

Re: Pansies

I would have love to see that. I guess I should've taken some shots of the stuff we went over, worse going downhill than up. But you are right, we are pansies : )

I would have taken a

mule! Road conditions are always a factor
in determining the outcome or success of
the climb. Sometimes, you have to be
creative and play it by ear. That's
where mules come in ... THEY have very
big ears! Thanks for the info, Dean !!
