Who says brush can't be a...

Who says brush can't be a beautiful sight to behold--if not to literally hold? This photo was taken on October 6, 1996 somewhere on the trail above Lake Ann after completing a climb of Black Peak. In this case, the brush is most likely mountain ash (Thanks Alpendave).

Slide alder beauty

Indeed, a pic that gives me a new appreciation for slide alder (well, very limited appreciation) Really nice picture.

I'm not an fauna expert. All I know is that it is brush. I guess one can use the words "slide alder" as a catch all for any type of desiduous brush that hampers progress. If it is indeed mountain ash I would be happy to alter the caption. If it is mountain ash then it would be a pain in the mountain ass to whack through. Thanks, Dave.
