Excellent page! Though it's not a mountain, but it's one of the essentials for great trips. Who doesn't like good food and drinks returning from a climb? I count that as a HIGH POINT -- thanks Steeleman for posting it.
Trust me Martin, this "mountain" is far more important to california climbers than many others. Certainly more important that your page of a mountain on mars?
It's cool. The vote is not meant as a slam. The page is funny, and I enjoyed reading it. It's just not a summit. It's like someone bringing a weedwacker to a Hotrod show, it doesn't belong here. I don't have any issues with it, this is just my opinion.
I got stuck with the Mars page after Ghirdini started deleting all his pages. I fixed it up a bit, and started a thread asking if people would mind if I deleted it. The consensus was to keep it.
I've visited the WND many times following a day in the Sierras, and always I find the food and atmosphere a fitting end to a fine day. It's always a pleasure to B.S. with Matt for a few minutes while waiting for your order to come up.
Love the place, but have not yet had the chance to summit. I bivied nearby, prior to being informed (courtesy of this page) of the gandeur of the summit. On this summers main trip I got there at 10:30AM, the real menu does not open until 11AM, and I could not wait it out. I will most likely have to wait till next summer to attempt to Summit again.
Holy cow, I can't believe nobody mentioned the killer lobster taquitos. I personally don't care much for seafood, but those taquitos are to die for! The entire plate was a work of art...red tortillas, black beans, green salad. Wish I'd had my camera with me. The meal was not only delicious but filling and worth the price. Who'da thunk that you could get gourmet food at a gas station? Only in California...

Untitled CommentEven though it is more interesting than many of the eastern bumps that get added, it is none the less off topic.
I hope not to see this site become Placepost.org

mo-marthilarious, some people need to stop taking themselves so seriously. MoMart is awesome, and in fact a mecca for any eastside trip.
