Wildfire Scars of Copper Butte

Wildfire Scars of Copper Butte

Copper Butte of the Kettle River Range rises 7,140 feet above sea level. In this winter image the scars of the 1994 wildfire show clearly. Copper Butte, located in the Colville National Forest and once home to a fire lookout tower is the highest summit in the Kettle River Range offering views of the Cascades and the Selkirk Range, and British Columbia's Monashee and Rossland Range.
